I don't know.

A lot of things have been going on at home lately, and I could bore you with the details, but I won't. Just a taste: Yesterday my new car got backed into in the CVS parking lot -- hit and run! -- so I had the privilege of experiencing a police report. Fortunately one of my fill-in moms was a witness, but still... sheesh. Last week I had a frustrating trip to Verizon during which I looked at Lorenzo the salesman and said, "I'm sorry. They're trying to make me be a grown-up and frankly, I don't know anything. I have no idea what I'm doing. Why don't you call my Daddy and ask him?"

Deja Vu and Second Chances

May 16, 2009
What if progress could be retroactive? So that growth, new success, learning, and moving ahead would go back and cover the past? It would make up for lost opportunities and failed attempts. Isn't that kind of what we get with mercy, grace, and redemption? He doesn't count our sins (and most of all, our selves) against us. No, but He gives us all that is necessary to come out of hopelessness and have life. The past only matters as it relates to our glorifying Him for bringing us out of it, and then applying that change to the present and future.

"too much in love to say goodnight..."

Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself. I’m convinced that an important part of surviving life is the ability to laugh at oneself.

I’ve been sitting on my bed since approximately 2:30 this afternoon. It is now 11:30. Granted, I did take a break for dinner at 5:15. I’m trying to write my senior thesis, and at twelve pages I think I understand what it must have felt like the first time they broke the sound barrier. The longest paper I’ve ever written was ten pages. I’m only halfway done with this beast [in the jungle] and I've already spilled three fourths of my thoughts. This isn’t the funny part.
