I found these on a wall exhibit inside the Burlington International Airport, which features poetry and journal entries by Cora Vail Brooks, a Vermont native (so is Coffee Heath Bar Crunch, an almost equally poetic experience by Ben & Jerry). I always enjoy seasonal poetry, especially about Autumn, and I think these have beautiful imagery and perspective.
September
we returned to school
or we remember
we carried summer
on our backs
October
Autumn, you turned
each leaf
into a letter inviting the wind
to its own celebration
November
trees, having heaved
their branches free of leaves
stiffened their dark bones
to hold up the sky
December
Snow
where you would
swing
your arms into wings
-Cora Vail Brooks

Week 1: Hot Apple Pie should be FRIED, not baked.
While I was driving to Morristown a few days ago, that old song from high school came on... "We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way, oh no."

my saleing adventure
As most of you readers out there know, I will soon be moving into my very first, very own apartment. Being that I have lived in a dorm for four years, I don't exactly have any cool furniture or decorations to liven up my rental-white new home.

to be loved.
My head rests sideways on the tray table, with a backpack full of snacks and souvenirs as a pillow. The already busy day is nowhere near its end, and I want to use every opportunity to make up for what I know will be a long night of interstate driving. Alas, I can never sleep on an airplane.
